My Visual Poem

For G.T. the class was given to do a visual poem. A visual poem is poetry that is shown by videos, pictures, or art. I chose to do my visual poem on memories because throughout life we make a lot of happy and sad memories so I thought to myself, why not make a poem about it? The visuals that I put into this video made an impact on my poem by showing and explaining to the audience what the poem really means. It also gives them a better vision on what the poem is mainly about.

The overall effects that I put into this video affect the overall meaning by showing them that memories are sentimental moments that can never be forgotten. The effects also give a more meaningful meaning to my poem. I put the effects to get the audience to feel the same way of the poem's mood, meaningful. This poem that I made was meant to actually relate to you and what memories you make throughout life.

I am somewhat satisfied with my final visual poem because it's not exactly what I thought it would turn out to be but it's close enough. I wished I used my time more wisely and get better footage. I should've started getting footage for my visual poem as soon as I had a thought about what I wanted for my visual poem. I also missed a couple of days of school, which got me behind but I'm happy with what I made with the time I had.

  4. I really liked the emotion you had in your visuals. One thing that you could have done is redo your voiceover because it had a lot of static and wind. Your poem was well written.

There was quite a bit of background noises
I could tell you definitely chose your words carefully.

  6. I thought the music matched extremely well with the actual poem.
I think you could of moved to a quieter placer to film the audio.
The B-Roll is spot on and I can see the point youre trying to get across.

  7. I really like how your actors are really natural while filming them. Maybe next time when your filming your VO go somewhere less windy. What I love above all is your concept since it can relate to everyone. Great job!

  8. I really love the topic you chose because everybody has memories.
Maybe next time try to get rid of the background noise because it was kind of distracting me.
But I really really love the B-Roll how it went nicely along with what you were saying.

  10. I thought that overall, the poem was written very well, and I really liked the idea behind it. In a few shots, camera movement could have been minimized. Great job on the music, I thought it really matched the theme of your poem!

  11. 1.) I really liked the meaning of your poem, it really made you think of what kind of memories you have.
2.) An area that I think you could improve upon is, the camera movement because it was a little hard to focus on the image.
3.) All in all, I think you did a great job with your poem!

  12. I really liked your poem and the messege it put out. However, your audio could have possibly been ramped so that it wouldn't be so loud in the beginning. I also liked how your visuals corresponded with what you were saying, for example things like tears or laughter.

I think that you should have turned down the background sound so we could here you better.

  14. I liked how you added emotion to your voiceover. I think that you could've re-filmed the voiceover so that there won't be as much wind noise. I also liked that you filmed most of the video outside instead of inside.

  15. Your voiceover was very nice and clear, I could easily understand what you were saying all the way through the video. There were a lot of clips all over school, I would recommend getting clips outside of school. The music that you added gave the poem a certain kind of mood which was very nice.

  18. Hiya, Leslie! Sweet visual poem, I really liked the words to your poem, and the background music really matches. One think you could improve on your video is that you can lower your audio, it's kind of loud. And Another think I really liked about your video is you b-roll and how it matched everything you said.

  19. Good Job Leslie! I love the story and the main idea of the poem.
I think that if you adjusted your the volume of your narrater, it would have been easier to read. Even if you shot the poem in a quieter place.
I do love the different angles of shot you did for the b-roll like when you shot the eye up close. It felt like it was right there.

  20. Hai Leslie! Awesome work this time! I really liked those B-Roll that depicted emotions because it looks genuine rather than forced. One thing you could have improved is your A-Roll as you could have retook it in a different place due to the wind. Either way, I loved how clear your voice was despite of all the background noises. Awesome work Leslie.

  22. You're Poem was personal and well written sounding. Voice over had some wind or something and not clear. I like seeing the emotions that you said.

  23. The music would have been a nice touch if the voice over didn't have so much background noise.
The voice over was too loud, I wasn't able to really pay attention to the poem.
    The poem itself was nice.

  24. Compliment: I really like your choice of music, it really matches your rhythm of this Visual Poem.
Improvements: For improvements, you could've re-recorded your voice overs to get rid of the wind sound and maybe lower the over all volume of this Visual Poem, also at the end, there is a quick flash of your script which might be important to edit out.
Compliment (2): But overall, I like the story and you're visual poems story .
